Peace on Earth...

May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace,
The gladness of Christmas give you hope,
The warmth of Christmas grant you love.

Only joy to my most dear family & friends...
~
Above is an ornament from my childhood Christmas tree. A pine cone with many feathers attached and some sort of face that makes a bird. It's a little worse for wear after all these years, but with each Christmas that I see it, I'm transported back in time...what wonderful times they were! The Christmases of my childhood...o the lovely memories each of them hold!

  3. I've got several ornaments that "make" the tree. One is a plain styrofoam ball with white toothpicks pushed into it. The toothpicks are mostly missing and the ones that are they are broken, but it as as magnificent of a 'snowflake' as it was the day my now 26 year old son brought it home from preschool. It gets front and center on the tree each year. Because in a way, that 'snowflake' is what my Christmas is all about.

I hope you had a wonderful day.

  4. I think it is wonderful to have special things that have many memories attached, no matter how silly they may look to anyone else :-) I have a lot of special ornaments on my tree full of memories. They bring back the people associated with them and always a smile :-) We can be "home for Christmas" in our hearts, even when we can't be there in person.

  6. You make me feel good. We have many such ornaments. And they are priceless. Whenever I see magazines with theme trees, I all but die laughing. My theme is "the life story," and it has no place in a magazine! But what's better than a treasure such as this one--and your sharing it here? Great stuff. Merry Christmas.
