Mizzourah Pond Fun

See that rippling water behind the canna lily?

It was caused by my Dodgie leaping in...

Then "walking" on water...

And ultimately splashing under!

Ahhhh...my Missourahhh.

Droplets Dripping...

Afternoon rainfall.
Droplets dripping down on leaves.
A delightful drenching.

The Travails of Travel

Off to Missouri I go!
We're on time, and I walk out to the plane.
(It's a small airport.)
Uh...excuse me, I was not told this was a
prop-plane!!  I don't do prop-planes!
Well, ok, I did as I really wanted to get where I wanted to be.
So we taxied out and then sat...and sat...and sat...
Bad thunderstorms in the area...very bad...
I am muttering every prayer, spell, mantra...
I'm sure you get the picture!

Two hours later.......we were airborn.
(And, you know all that stuff I muttered before?
It was remuttered during our bumpy takeoff, believe me.)

Must say, when you fly at an altitude of only
16,000 feet and just after a storm has gone through,
the sights are amazing! Here's a taste of what
one sees looking down - just wait till you see the clouds and sky!
(just wait, 'k?)

Homeward Bound

Home where my thought's escaping...
Home...where it's been waiting silently for me...
(Above, Dodgie by the edge of the pond at dusk)
~
I'm leaving CT in just a few hours from now to
fly back to my beloved home town - Columbia, Missouri.
My brother and sister have arrived already -
it's a family reunion of sorts and I'm so looking forward to it!

(Above, Dodgie and Cody fishing with Grand Roger and me last summer)
And of course there will be my Dodgie,
my dad, and mom and dad's dog, Cody.
Mom, of course, is there and GB joins us this Thursday. It's a very good thing.
(Thank you, Martha, for those last five words!)

P. S. I helped Miss LaLa (aka MPMama) arrange the flowers yesterday at her church.
I took the above photo of one of our arrangements.
You can see our other arrangement here.
We done good, Mama!

Sky Watch Friday

Two Converging Storm Fronts...

It's been a very exciting day here in the northeast...

Can you believe we were under a tornado warning???
For three hours!!  It just doesn't get any better than that!!!
I've lived here 31 years and this was the first time!
Yup, I just loves me a good old tornado warning!
Hey!  I'm from the midwest.
You know, tornado alley????
Duhhhh...

(Two storm fronts converging)

Good Food

Our Farmer's Market is loaded with good things
that are ready to be bought and eaten!
We support it every way we can.
It's good, local food - locavores - that's what we're striving to be!

And now a question:

From what source do you get your sustenance?

Shameless family exploitation once again.
Above is my bro's photo.

P. S.  My bro replied:
"One of the resulting butterflies is here. And another -- this one went to chrysalis form in the fall. We figured it was dead. Roger insisted it wasn't and kept it in his room. One March morning, he awoke to a butterfly crawling on his bed!" There's one more photo here.

Just One Squash...Priceless!

This is the one and only fruit of our laborious labor. As you can see, there's many blossoms, but the fruit of those blooms? Not so much. I just read an article in our paper about farmer's markets and it reported that unless a stand sells at least $1500 worth of produce for the day, it isn't worth their time, let alone their effort to participate.

Anyone want to buy a $1500 squash*?

At least the foliage is big and beautiful...

*P. S. Had the squash for dinner tonight and it was delicious!
Worth every one of those $15oo's worth of penny's!
