While traveling home, I happened to spot the above lady who was taking the same flight I was on. She looked like a perfectly lovely gray-haired grandma kind of person (and probably only 5 to 10 years older than me, if I'm honest - BLAH) in sensible clothes and shoes.
Her carry-on was an old fashioned red suitcase with one little old handle on top. I haven't seen one of those in years - I didn't even know they were still made or sold! Uhh..wait! That suitcase could be 20, 30, 40 years old! Maybe she just takes really good care of her possesions. Didn't think of that.
I wonder if her laptop is inside...
And for those of you who could care less about little old ladies and their little red suitcases, I bring you a little red zinnia and her friend...from my parent's most superb MO garden, where the beauty is never-ending!

xoabb
expect anything!
The zinnias are gorgeous...the little old lady is ME! Well, I always wanted red luggage.
ReplyDeleteI had a blue one of those growing up... love the flowers! Happy MONDAY!
ReplyDeleteHUGS lAura
Zinnias are my favorite! Nice shot...
ReplyDeleteLove that suitcase!
ReplyDelete...Yeah, I would say that the suitcase is def' vintage and whaddya bet if you complimented her on it that she'd respond, "What, this ol' thing?!"...lol ;o)
ReplyDelete...Love zinnias! Very pretty!
...Blessings... :o)
That is definitely a "carry-on" piece of luggage.
ReplyDeleteBet her checked luggage doesn't look that good.
Bear((( )))
LOL!...I asked my parents for a beautiful 2-piece set of bright red luggage when I went away to college :-) I remember that it was "Amelia Earhart"....I'm glad it never got lost. I finally sold it at a rummage sale a few years back. Love those zinnias! Beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love old suitcases. I always look at them when I'm out antiquing, but I'm not sure what I'd really DO with one...they are pretty heavy to actually carry one.
ReplyDeleteA "making me smile" post!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
Oh maybe she shops in a re-sale shop and just had to have one!

I love the flowers. I would love to have a lovely garden. But I REALLY love the little red suitcase and WANT. ONE! So cute!
ReplyDeleteSome people love the vintage suitcases and it always makes me wonder about them. Do they have a house full of vintage crap... like me?
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures too!
My aunt has a suitcase like this that she has slipcovered in clear plastic and it's in perfect condition. Love it.
ReplyDeleteFrom red suitcases to red zinnias. Nice segue, Annie!! Pretty flowers, too.
ReplyDeleteMy dad still has his hard, leather Samsonite from God knows when. I find it quaint.
ReplyDeleteLap throw maybe, but a lap top, I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteMy parents only recently got rid of tan leather cosmetic case that my mother took on their honeymoon in 1950. It held GI Joe figures for my nephews for the longest time, until they grew out of them.
That lady dresses a lot like my mom and my mom would LOVE to have the little red suitcase to go with her denim outfit! So cute!
ReplyDeleteYup, her laptop and the great American mystery, that she writes after her hubby is in bed, and a pack of Juicy Fruit gum and some bunion pads. Don'cha think?
