PONDering...

Textured Pond Ice

Because I wanted to ~pack right, pack light~ (whoever came up with that idiotic phrase??) instead of overpacking as I usually do, I studied the extended forecast for MO before I traveled out here. And the temps weren't supposed to get below 30º during the night, let alone the daytime, for the entire week. It was 17º when I got up yesterday. 17º! That's a whole lot below freezing. The coat I brought isn't nearly warm enough. Pooh!

expects to never study extended forecasts before traveling ever again!

  2. You've got some serious cold going there. Character-building cold (the kind with wind) returned to Connecticut, too. Stay warm out there!

  3. I always pack light. I figure there are stores and I can pick something up if I need to. But this is serious cold!!! Keep warm, my friend.

  6. That was a great photograph, especially considering you were shivering from the cold. I hardly listen to the weather. Seems they are explaining today why they missed the mark yesterday.

  8. Annie: It is a no win situation. I was just down in Texas and thank God I took my heavy leather coat that had gloves in it. It was really cold outside.

  15. You mean you don't still keep a coat or two back home? Packing light is good, but packing right is harder :-) 17? That's cold!

  16. It would be an interesting study to see in what place the extended forecasts are most inaccurate. I'll bet Missouri could be at the top!
