Sunset not on Second Street

What a difference 24 hours can make...

Above is my new go-to sunset spot as my Sunset on Second Street view is now completely blocked by a ginormous - and ever-growing - mound of snow and ice. Pretty sure I won't be able to use Second Street until, oh, I'd say around mid-May. Above is Sunset on Third Street - not quite the same ring, but a pretty view none-the-less.

On another note, we're having our Gourmet Group tomorrow at our home, and for something ~new and different~, Connecticut is expecting another ice and snow storm as well! O joy (she writes, with dripping sarcasm and loathing). If no one can make it here, it's a pretty solid bet GB and I won't be hungry for the next two weeks! Will we be tired of Chicken Marbella? Yup! Hungry? Nope!

The Course of True Love...

The Lion Roared In...

Well, if the old adage holds true, March will most certainly go out like a very docile lamb...
This morning around 8:45. I didn't bother going to the corner of the deck to stand where I took last night's photo. Too too snowy!

Killer Icicles

All around our home we are growing killer icicles. If one of them broke off and hit someone, there could very well be carnage...and red-hued snow is really not a good thing. 

This winter is turning out to be one of the most precipitous (isn't that a great word??) years we've had in a while. We're ~bracing~ for another "snow event", as they're now called, tomorrow. I'm sure the grocery stores will be jammed, as all we Connecticuter's (Connecticutan's?) tend to go into a complete frenzy whenever snow is predicted. Silly? Yup! 

I'll never forget tuning in to our local TV station a few years ago and hearing a very serious looking weatherman announcing: "Storm Bob... He's coming... Details at 10..." (Storm Bob????) 

All I can say, that's definitely the name of my next dog, even if he's a she!

Rays Reflected on Ripples

Remnants of the Storm

Above is the setting sun's rays reflected and shimmering on the ripples of Lake Champlain. I spent a weekend there last Spring and during the time I was there, a large thunderstorm passed over the lake just before sunset. The remnants of that storm left the most spectacular skies! And I happened to be in the right place at the right time! The only thing that could have made it even more perfect is if I could have caught a photo of Champy (think the Loch Ness Monster's first cousin) as well. Maybe next time!
