In a Blooming Pink Magnolia Tree

Does mama put the magnolia petal over her eggs
or does it just fall into place?
Either way, it's magic!

The school I'm part of has an enclosed courtyard in the middle of it. It's an ideal place for any bird to nest - absolutely not a cat or catbird able to pillage - and it's a robin's nest we've been blessed with this Spring! Though the nest is relatively low to the ground, I have to shoot over the top of it without seeing what I'm taking, so the arrangement isn't always humanly ideal, but it's always robinly ideal.
As long as mama robin isn't on the nest, I'll be trying to document each day, weekends excluded, (sigh) for the next few weeks.
P. S. It's a golf weekend in Chicago.....there are claims that ~business~ is involved. I think I'll have to beg to differ...hmmph!

ReplyDeleteThere is a whole bunch of robin luv going on around here...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful nest and eggs and how lovely to decorate with magnolia petals :-) Hope you get pics of the baby birds eventually.
ReplyDeleteOh fantastic! How sweet to see the flowers, too. Hope you get to see babies!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to tell you...I dreamed about this bird nest last night. I don't remember what happened, but I remember the eggs...
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't want to come out of their egg in the midst of magnoila petals?
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that he's off to Chicago. That leaves you with some "me" time! What will you do? Pedicures? Museums? A lovely book or three?
And think how sweet he will be when he returns!
You and your eggs!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's beautiful! You're right - it's very magical.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing contrast of colors and circumstances. Those robins sure knew where to set up shop! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, Annie! This is a beautiful post. I love the blue of the eggs against the petals. Well done!
