Here We Go!

Every night my turkeys launch themselves to bed into the limbs of the tall trees. How this is warm and comfortable I cannot possibly imagine. Well, at the very least, I guess they're safe from the coyotes. And the wolves, if Miss LaLa is to be believed...hmmm...

  5. They're so pretty! And yes, I'm believing with MPM that they're safer in the trees.

Jealous of your snow. Can't believe there's not more.

  6. And may I ask .. who has the binoculars? LaLa or Annie? Yup.

Okay .. so Saturday I was wandering endlessly around the little parks along the harbor and river down near Wall St (not really but close enough)and I see the ground has been seeded and covered with this HUGE blue plastic 'tarp' .. and there are a gaggle of geese waddling across the blue plastic .. I am standing there thinking as I snap away 'are they nuts, do they think its water'... no idea but it made a truly fab funny photo

  8. We were just talking today about turkeys and geese...especially the geese out on the water now. How they stand it is more than I know.

  9. I saw those turkeys when I visited last month! Yep, they're safe in the trees.

  10. Hey, if coyotes can be spotted in Mathews, they can be spotted on the moon. Also, in the next county over? Bears.

If I were those turkeys, I'd get a tree with an alarm.

  11. We heard an odd sound in the woods one evening this week. It's been speculated that it was a bobcat. I'm hoping that my wild turkeys will be safe from one of THOSE while nesting in the trees:(

  12. My turkeys like to roost on the banister of our walkway...

  13. I'd sit in the tree if there were coyotes and wolves around, too! It seems so strange that they hang around a subdivision like this.
