We've ended up having just a lovely Spring here in lower New England. Though I've been complaining heartily about our weather, the blooms have been nothing to complain about. Now my wisteria the bane of my hubby's existence as he thinks it is ugly for 98% of its yearly existence - how could anyone say that looking at those magnificent blooms??? are in full and glorious bloom, most of the trees are leafing out, (well, except for the hickory and oak trees as I've been chronicling every Friday), and the birds, bees and butterflies are busy flitting about each doing their Springly thingy.
That brings me to the above photo. Anyone notice the broken fence to the right of my wisteria? Anyone wonder how that happened??? Wonder no more! A certain son of mine, who will remain nameless, backed out of the driveway, in a hurry as usual, and took out the fence. Car suffered no damage (which disappointed me), but fence? Down two rails. Nameless son is replacing the rails. We hope sometime in the next decade...
Ahh Wisteria!
Such beautiful blossoms and
Color I adore.

expect anything!
P. S. A haiku lesson is soon to come! At least haiku as I know it!
Hah, your descriptions were quite funny about the hubster and nameless son.
ReplyDeleteDon't hold you breath on that repair - you'll suffocate.
ReplyDeleteLOL! funny descriptions of hubby and nameless son:) i hope he'll do the repair soonest. But the Wisteria is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteMy world is here
Did you shake your fist to the sky?
ReplyDeleteThe colors and lighting in these pics is perfect.

Your lucky your son didn't take out the wisteria...perhaps your husband may put him up to it..
ReplyDeleteWe don't really get wisteria up in northern new england. I never see any.
Love the wisteria...it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe fence would have sent me screaming.
and it smells devine too! all the wisteria has bloomed and gone green now here... so glad to see yours !
ReplyDeleteAnd to think, GB is away while it blooms this year;) And your fence? I have a story to tell you later. Over some wine.
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting for shoes to be put away.....it has been two weeks now and I step over them every night...perhaps this is a precursor to fixing things that get broken around the house?
ReplyDeleteI sympathize... mightily. And I love wisteria!
ReplyDeleteOh No - Sorry bout that fence! Kids!
ReplyDeletehehehe
The wisteria is gorgeous - How could hubby not love it? That one's beyond me
I love wistera, broken fences, not so much!
ReplyDeleteI love your wisteria and hope that nameless son replace sooner than a decade!
ReplyDeleteI had a beautiful split rail fence here before. I had someone come down the hill speeding and took out four sections. I fixed. I trimmed around every loving post. The Village came and took away my woods. Put in an ugly sidewalk. My fence is gone.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture. Period.
Wisteria, lilacs .. lovely purples all .. and that fence, I hope your son doesnt share the procrastinator gene my husband has ... sigh
ReplyDeleteThat wisteria is gorgeous! The fence? The terminology is "distressed wood."
ReplyDeleteOr, maybe it was an evil plot by husband. He may have taken the fence down in hopes that Son would back into the wisteria. Could be a conspiracy....
Hmmm...consipracy theory between the two males in my life...never occured to me...you all could be on to something! Must investigate.
ReplyDeleteI, too, love Wisteria. However, it's not a son, but the Wisteria that is about to "take out a fence." Severe pruning of the plant, perhaps even removal to another spot in the yard is needed. Will be a massive task; the Wisteria has been there for 20 years. Who needs a fence, anyway?
ReplyDeleteLovely photo.
Your Wisteria is beautiful! How many years does it take to bloom? I have been patient for 3 years now! Nothing but green! And that fence....is that what I have to look forward to?
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by...the wiseria is gorgeous. You didn't mention the smell, but that is ok, I can almost smell it just from looking at the photo. Love the smell of wisteria. Makes me know spring is really here.

At least your son was considerate enough to NOT take out any of your plants when he destroyed the fence!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I need a wisteria...
Don't hold your breath about the fence, just enjoy the wisteria, it is a terrific specimen.
ReplyDeleteWell, at lest you have the wisteria to distract from the broken rails. Beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteI adore Wisteria and it smells so divine in Spring & Summer. Lovely shots my dear!
ReplyDeleteI ADORE wisteria!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your fence. I do love the wisteria, though. Love how it looks around a porch roof, too. Unfortunately, it doesn't look great all year like that!
ReplyDeleteAnn: It is good the fence protected the tree. You took some great shots of the blooms.
