It's Poison Ivy!
It comes in many colors
Beware! It's all bad!
But oh so very beautiful!
You may not be sensitive now...
But someday you will be!
Leaves of three, let them be!

Barak Obama has just been elected.
And as MP Mama noted, Senator McCain's
concession speech was superb in its healing tone.
Blessings to both of these fine men, just blessings...
And that's as political as I'm gonna get!

xoabb
expect anything!
I've always wondered why it is so, so pretty, especially in autumn. One of the best things about where I live now is that we don't have any. I am SOOO allergic to it. I never touched it, but it is so pretty and inviting.
ReplyDeleteWhy is something so pretty so bad? My poor Dad was so allergic to it,
ReplyDeleteGreat post and pictures for the letter P.
I hate poison ivy they are very dangerous if you don't know how they look like you will get victimized.
ReplyDeletemy post is here.
Yet another thing that looks so good but is really oh-so-bad! I just LOVE autumn, and your pictures pretty much sum up why.
ReplyDeleteAnd...ego. That's the only thing I can think of that would make ANYONE want to be President :). It's a new era now, and hopefully one that will be all that is expected.
Ah, the temptation of the pretty colors makes it so pretty on the surface, but so evil underneath.
ReplyDeleteI have often heard about this plant but never seen it. Luckily we don't get it here
ReplyDeleteItching all over just looking at it.
ReplyDeleteBut its so pretty....I want to touch it!
ReplyDeleteOooo! Nice haiku on poison ivy!
ReplyDeleteWe get poison oak out here in the west -- I've never seen the ivy in person, which is probably a very good thing...
ReplyDeleteWe have some tall stinging nettles along our riverbanks that are pretty darned nasty...
I couldn't remember the rhyme, so thank you for reminding me - Leaves of 3, let them be!!!
ReplyDeleteUh oh .. did you learn this the itchy way?
ReplyDeleteHope not.
:-Daryl
Beautiful but oh so bad.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are great.
Bear((( )))
I'm on prednisone right now (see my P post) and only WISH it were poison ivy...at least I'd know what it is! But alas, we don't know so I'm now on a regimen of prednisone to get rid of it! Gorgeous photos of such poison! lol
ReplyDeletePretty to look at, but not to touch.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty not to touch or to get.
ReplyDeleteChrissy
I don't just itch! I swell up to enormous size, can't lie down without my throat closing (try sitting up to sleep several nights in a row!), byt fortunately cortisone can make it a bit less awful than in my younger days. Actually what we have here is more apt to be poison oak which has the exact same poison to make one miserable. And it is equally beautiful in autumn! Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteLeaves of three, let them be...but aren't they colorful though! Beautiful photos!!! Ditto, on your comment about the election!!!Yehhhh!!!!
ReplyDeletePoison ivy really is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I are "immune" to it, but my son will wake up with it tomorrow morning just because I've read this post and a picture of poison ivy was, for a period of time, in this house.
I was horribly allergic growing up, but don't think I am now. As in, gone to the emergency room twice kind of allergic.
ReplyDeleteWoW! I had no earthly idea it came in different colors. It gives a whole new meaning to *Pretty But Don't Touch*, lol.
ReplyDeleteAs always, your pictures are amazing....
I'll stay away thank you.
ReplyDeleteSo that is Poison Ivy - it does look very beautiful and innocuous. I can admire from afar.
ReplyDeleteTsannie, this is very colourful and beautiful! Good post. Thanks for your visits!
ReplyDeleteAn old pop song came to mind; does that really date me? Poison Ivy by the Coasters - 1959. Looks can be deceiving.
ReplyDeleteSo that's what it looks like! The colours are beautiful, but I'm glad we don't get it here!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting.
WM is okay and doing really great. She is just very busy and chose to direct her energies elsewhere. I will pass along your message :)
ReplyDeleteLike Gordon, I got the Coaster's song buzzing in my head as soon as I saw this
ReplyDeleteYou can look
but you better not
touch
poison ivy
It is going to take all day to get this out of my head now.
Beautiful photos of something I try always to avoid.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best way to view that stuff! Thanks for taking the risk for us! Beautiful photos all.
ReplyDeletePoison oak can be pretty, but it is awful stuff... Great shots...
