Rainbows in Unexpected Places

My dad took this photo of their pond early last Tuesday. For whatever reason, be it the extreme MO heat of late, a strange new pollen, (and no, it's not oil), brilliant rainbows are showing up most mornings on the surface of the water. As the day goes on, the winds and possibly the sun's rays disperse it. I wonder what's causing it...

Hmmm...quite perplexing!

  6. O.M.G.

    That is spectacular.

    Could it be an algae?

Maybe it's the fountain of youth. Please bottle some up and send to Virginia, I'll pay extra for overnight delivery.
