Intruder

I really must remember to always look at all the details of the picture I'm about to take. Not for the first time, (go here for that), there is an extra unwanted ~thingy~ in a photo I've taken. And for the second time, again it's a mosquito. I'm either just darn unobservant & unlucky, or it's a sign that in some way or another, mosquitoes are about to invade my life! Dear me! Hellllooo calamine lotion, you are my friend!

Oh, and it's raining.  Again. Just thought you should know.

  1. Annie: I always feel it is a bonus when you find something extra in your photos. Concentrating on the flower blocked everything out.

  2. I don't even want to think about what skeeter season is going to be like this season with all this rain.

  3. You don't know how right you are. In reading the current Earthplace newsletter, I learned that after checking caves and other hibernation sites, up to 90% of CT's bats will soon succumb to a deadly fungus that turns their noses and sometimes chests white. Since bats are believed to eat up to 1200 mosquitos an hour, the effect will be devastating, and felt very soon. Humans can't survive without a healthy bird and bat population, of course. And by the way, good morning!

  5. There's a skeeter season? We don't hose down unless we're heading to the mountains.

I thought of Stella and her infamous pig out today.

  7. That skeeter picked a pretty place to hide out.

Rain, rain, go away! It's not raining right now, but more is on the way.

  8. Some people would consider the mosquito the most interesting part of the photo...being bug nuts...but I prefer the blossoms! Lovely with or without bug.

  11. Glad you like the PB. They roast the peanuts and make it right at the place where I get it.
