We had our first frost last night, scattered though it was. Our home is down at the end of a cul-de-sac, the lowest-in-altitude house on the block. My glorious morning glories, (though the blooms are getting smaller the colder it becomes), were in full bloom this morning. The neighbor's lawn just a house up and about 20 feet higher was covered with frost. My thermometer read 41 degrees. Two miles away where I work, 32 degrees. The above photo is of the frost-touched ground-creeping evergreen I saw in the parking lot. Amazing how much the temps can fluctuate!
Snippet from the nurses's office:
"My ear hurts."
"How long has it been hurting?"
"20 years."
"Um, you're only 7 years old."
"So?"

expect anything!
a quite wonderful new meme, is premiering today!
The goal of this is to share some of our personal corners of
the world with others. What a grand idea!
While my entry is a very small slice of the world I inhabit,
my corner it is, both photo and words.
Thanks for the wonderful trip around your place. So very much different from my place but I do wanna share my place also to you. Great job.
ReplyDeleteFrost is so pretty until the sun comes out! Amazing how different the temperatures were.
ReplyDeleteI am really tired of my shorts and flip flops right now.
ReplyDeletelovely frost image. :O we don't have that here.
ReplyDeleteYou had it already? That sounds so cool and looks like it too.
ReplyDeleteOur first frost was the night before.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't outside to get a photo of it though.
Bear((( )))
Frost! I'm so jealous! We're dropping to 38 at night soon, but no frost!
ReplyDeleteT: A neat little snippet of your world. I loved CT when I stayed there for a short time and am awaiting great photos for My World.
ReplyDeleteBTW: The grain elevator is a working on and the railroad car was being loaded.
Beautiful shot. I love the frost. It's like a special occasion when the first one comes. I overheard two kids debating yesterday whether or not it was snow!
ReplyDeletebeautiful but brrrrrr love the snippit from the nurses office
ReplyDeleteNot this cold yet, but I can feel your beautiful brrr.
ReplyDeleteIt's cooling off out here in the west too...
ReplyDeleteBundle up and stay warm...
Was that a conversation between said 7 year old and you or Nurse N?
ReplyDeleteFrost is my friend - it means the end of ragweed season and the end of fall allergy suffering for my poor pooch.
Frost gathers in a hollow as, on a still night the cooler the air, the heavyer it gets and gently gravitates into a depression. The operative tempreture for frost is at or near ground level.
ReplyDeleteWhatever, it looks so pretty and I love it too.
That time of year again, huh? A very nice detail shot! (Fortunately) I don't have to encounter frost down here in FL - and if - only for a day or two.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
we are getting closer to frost, dipping near 38, so it's inevidable. start to layer your clothes and burst out the scarves.

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful shot and darling little conversation!
ReplyDeleteMy heat is going on for the first time.. any minute now. I'm done shivering. Our temps are supposed to drop below freezing tonight and they're not much above that right now. I miss my summer!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and hilarious overheard chat. :)
Beautiful frost cuz I am so ready for snow!!!
ReplyDeleteThose seven year olds, they just get older each year!

We are definitely headed towards frosts here also.
ReplyDeleteLoved the snippet from the dr's office.
It was wear a coat day here in the Big Apple

Love the photo. They're calling for a possible frost for us later this week. I sort of dread the loss of greenery and the months ahead of brown.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping me up to date on the weather in CT! I still have my AC on here! I'm waiting for another chilly morning to snuggle deep into my covers and breathe in the coolness! Glad to see you on MY World Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy my small slices of your daily world :-) I'm not ready for frost, but I guess the leaves would be prettier, if we got some. Love the snippet from the nurse's office....LOL!
ReplyDeleteNo frost here yet but the temps are gradually going down down down.
ReplyDeleteGreat detail and texture, we have just had our first light frost too
ReplyDeleteFrost is beautiful, we have that here as well and i am not ready for the cold yet but its here and seems to be staying now
