Painted Sky (and Hep Me, Please!)

with a perplexing problem...
...at least to me.
(BTW - blurry photo effects are intentional - it's my attempt to create ~art~)
(Don't snicker. It's not nice. My mother told me so. )

Uploaded from iPhoto

Uploaded from my Flickr

Two photos from the very same photo source. One directly from iPhoto on my computer, the other after I'd uploaded the very same photo to Flickr. Why is the one from Flickr so much clearer/better, but not sized or framed correctly, though it's correct when in draft? Why is the one from iPhoto not as vibrant, but sized correctly? Obviously I'm not gettin' it. Hep me please!!! I need all the hep I can git!

  5. Cool. Looks like it should be a puzzle - tell Nurse N I said that - she hears it every time we go to USMA.

I'm not savvy to any of the photo enhancing programs - yet - but I like the effect from Flickr.

  6. When I did my post last night, I uploaded the pic of George 3 times to Photobucket and it kept putting it in Blogger super huge when I used the 'direct link'. It was ridiculous, so I sized the picture the old way without using Photobucket and it worked. Maybe it's a Blogger thing? Sorry. But it's a nice pic, all the same.

  9. Does it make you feel better to know that we are all just as ignorant about this stuff as you are?? Can offer no help, but the tree is gorgeous in either photo!

  10. Though it sounds complicated, the explanation is relativly simple. You prep and photo in a software and save it - it is being saved as is. Do the same over the web and it will be processed, regardless, whether needed or not. Unfortunately some Desktop software seem to adopt that, too. Iphoto and Mac seem to have decided that you as the user are not smart enough to know what you want, and reprocess the image too.
And since none of the processing algorithmns are a like - you will get varying results.
    Hope that explains it.
    Cheers, Klaus

  13. Klaus - so there's basically nothing I can do about this?

  14. The tree is stunning, but I think it is too complicated to understand, besides I don't use Iphoto, and Flickr only sometimes. I use picasa ans I like that best.
Thank you for all your comments. I live in the Netherlands, but also in Holland. We have 12 provinces and only 2 of them are called Holland. I live in Zuid-Holland. Amsterdam is in Noord-Holland.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  15. Here's what I do.

I export my photo from iPhoto to my MacbookPro desktop... I usually set the export for Maximum resolution and set the SIZE at medium which is good for uploading quickly.

And then I go to New Post and use the center and large settings ... and upload.

that's it .. if you have problems you can always email me and I am happy to help
