Give a Guy a Chainsaw...

Before...

After...
Hubby and son spent the good part of a recent weekend ~redesigning~ our front yard. What started with the removal of one bush that was ugly and in front of the bay window ended with the subsequent removal the crab tree and all the over-grown monster bushing lining our front steps. As soon as we get the stumps removed, we'll figure out what to plant next. That's a new female holly bush and the smaller one to the left is the male holly. (I want holly berries and you must have both a female and male for that to happen.)

Be careful what you wish for when
you give your guy(s) a chain saw!
Could get ugly...

  4. I can totally relate to this post. I also get nervous if I see them with the tractor or the weedwhacker or if I hear talk of the need to burn some brush. I guard my gardens at that point. Your yard is lookin' good.

  7. If you think a guy with a chainsaw is dangerous, you'd be shocked to see what can happen when he climbs on a bulldozer.

The more open look in your "After" shot does look more inviting.

  12. Is that the sequel to "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" - "If You Give Two Guys a Chain Saw?"

Looks lovely without all the shrubs and trees - open and light.

  13. I think it looks much more inviting and did you get spider webs in that space with bushes? Ugh. I love chain saws. I love clearing out stuff. I went looney on my shrubs last year :)So did my neighbor. They just get overgrown and ugly. Great job!

  16. Good Decision! And no one lost a limb or appendage of any kind? Sounds like a win-win situation to me...

    Love your bay window!

  17. Looks completely different. Yep, a man with a chainsaw is a man with a mission.
