My Community Garden...disaster...

5/27/9
I don't know...maybe I'm not cut out to be a gardener.  BUT
try I will! It's been incredibly cold and rainy here in the
northeast, but still...could the plants planted just grow???

  3. It will come along.
Our weather is several weeks ahead of yours and the garden is doing well here, HOWEVER . . . despite the fence and my husband raising the fence with twine, the deer are sneaking into the yard and eating the plants on the edges. They love sunflowers. And lettuce. And nasturtiums, apparently. My husband bemoans the deer on a daily basis.

  6. It will happen as soon as it stops raining .. as long as there's good drainage.

I planted (okay, I stuck the little plants I bought in that wonderful dirt you brought me) almost 3 weeks ago and have not had to water since, its rained or been damp chilly foggy almost every day since ..

  10. Patience...it's been cold and the plants just don't like it. By July, you'll be overrun.

  14. Gardening is one of the mysteries of life... Why does something do well one year and not the other?... Why do seeds never want to grow? Why do slugs love to eat new growth? Gah!
