In My Parent's Garden*

*aka: Shameless Family Exploitation - Rounds II & III

Below is an email and photo I just received from my mom (aka mumbum):
Dear ones,

If you want to feed your soul, plant sweet peas. There'll be a big bunch to pick each day, with a scent beyond compare. These are in a bowl of your Grandma Mae's and it was filled 70+ years ago just like it is today. Later in the season it will be filled with nasturtiums.

Love,
Mom

In short order, my seester replied:

Mom - when you send me your flowers (and other pics) I save them and use them as a screen saver. I have a colleague at the office that loves to watch my screen saver and has her favorites. Actually she gets most distracted when we are talking business if she sees a new one or her one of her favorites. Just wanted to let you know, there is another out there that understands the concept of feeding one's soul.

xoxo, Care

~

Wish you could see our parents' entire garden.
It is immense and just beautiful.

  3. Oh how I adore sweet peas, they remind me of my godmother who used to deliver buckets to our home. Lovely.

  4. I was just over to Portland Oregon's blog and read your comment about your dogwood being in bloom. I was telling her that my dogwood all suffers from dogwood anthracnose disease and if I had not been able to clone new plants over the past 46 years I would not have a single dogwood left. I have been replacing them with Arrow wood which offers more than the present variegated leaf dogwood. Arrow wood offers the berries and flowers for the benefit of the animals.

Your photography is very nice to see.

  13. Thanks for your visit. I have a lot of visitors and readers but not as many people stop and comment. So I try to post something on the blogs you visit to keep people coming back. There will be more as I get ideas. I also write newspaper weekly columns for two newspapers so it keeps me busy. I just finished a naked cornfield dance story for two newspapers and senior citizens getting naked and doing the old Native American dance around the cornfield to ensure a good harvest. The farmers want more corn to seel for fuel.
