Caterpillars!

Caterpillars now,
Beauties soon to be

Shameless family exploitation once again.
Above is my bro's photo.

P. S.  My bro replied:
"One of the resulting butterflies is here. And another -- this one went to chrysalis form in the fall. We figured it was dead. Roger insisted it wasn't and kept it in his room. One March morning, he awoke to a butterfly crawling on his bed!" There's one more photo here.
Do click on the highlighted links - his photos are wonderful!

  1. I have noticed a cabbage white butterfly near my hanging baskets but I sprayed them with a repellant and she seems to avoid them now. Such detail. Wonderful!

  8. Beautiful photos! I have trouble with critters that are going to be moths (or moth like). Shiver.

  9. Aren't the colours of the caterpillar stunning!
I don't mind caterpillars at all because I know what they will become.

  13. Oh those are really good! I love the "greeness" of that first photo, almost more then the butterflies. The one of Roger holding it is precious.
